Kibler Charter Fishing on Fort Peck Lake, Montana

Mary Beth's Fishing Report:
February 1, 2010
The ice on Fort Peck is good but 8” of packed snow make it rough, especially if you’re pulling a trailer. We still don’t recommend driving your truck on the ice but many are doing it anyway.
The Hell Creek Ice fishing tournament was yesterday . Clint Thomas told me that Jason Chamberlain of Gillette, WY was the winner with 26 pounds. This was a multi-species tournament with Walleye, northern pike, ling and lake trout counting toward the total weight. Robert Smotherman & Tiffany Thomas placed 2nd with one northern pike and 3rd place went to Ben Phipps. Ben won the Big Walleye pot with a 7.4# walleye, even though the biggest walleye caught was 8.2# but wasn’t entered into the pot to win. Good ice conditions should continue through February. Good luck if you decide to give it a try.
We are busy booking our May, June and July calandars and encourage you to make your arrangements soon. Rooms at the Marina are filling up but there is also the Hell Creek State Park. The shower building, electrical hookups and graveled camp spots make that a good option. There is also an RV dump available. Give us a call or email us to make arrangements for your fishing trip!
